frequently asked questions

Is there a minimum spend to work with Gems and Stems for my wedding?

For weddings where we will come to your venue and set up your arrangements for you, or where will will be delivering bouquets and wearables, there is a $1,500 minimum spend (ex taxes).

For a bridal bouquet only, with local delivery in the Oliver region, or for a whole set of arrangements that you will collect yourselves, there is no minimum spend.

What is my deposit for?

Your non-refundable deposit secures your date with Gems and Stems, locking you into our calendar. It also pays for our consultation time and initial discussions leading right up to our proposal presentation to you.

The deposit is issued including tax because it goes towards your final invoice and does not serve as an extra administration fee, so tax is still applicable. When we issue your final deposit 4 weeks before your wedding date, we deduct the deposit amount that you placed with us when we began our discussions.

How do I make a payment?

When your payment is due, either for your deposit or for your final balance, we will send you an invoice. We would prefer payment via credit card via our invoice link. Please don;t send us any money until we ask you to, so that we have a clear record for our accounting.

This is for two reasons;

1) it is safely and securely taking your payment information within data protection laws and

2) if we need to partially or fully refund you for anything this can be done directly through the invoice and straight back to your card. E-transfers can allow room for error on the amount payable, and introduces an extra step for reimbursing any costs if amendments need to be made.

Bonus, you will instantly receive a receipt for the invoice using this method and can keep this for your records.

When will I receive my contract from Gems and Stems?

We will issue your formal contract for working together once we receive your deposit. This will be sent via email initially, and it will also be replicated at the foot of your formal proposal document, so you’ll always be able to refer back to it if need be.

It will confirm details like the date of your wedding that is locked in with us, and include other information about how long you can continue to make amendments to your proposal for before your date.

How do I return rented items and props after my wedding?

We have lots of props, vessels dried materials and other items for rental to maximise the drama and impact of your arrangements!

If you have any items rented from Gems and Stems on your recipe, we would love for you to enjoy them for 7 days after your wedding.

After this we will need them returned to our store in Oliver or to an address we have in West Kelowna, whichever is easiest for you. Please feel free to drop them at any time that is convenient for you and leave them by our door.

What will my wedding photos be used for?

After your wedding with us we would love it if you would share your professional high resolution photos with us.

If you are happy to give your consent to share these to our website or social media, we will use these to promote our work and to build our portfolio.

If you do not give your consent to share your photos, we would still love to have a peek at the gallery privately as it warms our hearts to see everything come together for your magical day after often working for so long before hand with you!

The power is in your hands and we respect your wishes with the use of your beautiful photos.
